In addition, during the Course the student will accompany a Certified Strasser Hoofcare Professional (SHP) at work for several days in the U.K. or SA, and/or complete a 5-day work/study apprenticeship at an active Strasser Hoof Clinic.
When accompanying a SHP, and for attendance at a Strasser Hoof Clinic, students must make their own individual arrangements.
Course outline and sequence of topics is subject to change and may vary.
Course instructor in U.K. is Jane Kempton.
Correspondence Course instructor is Sabine Kells.

Section III:- Hoofcare Professional Terms, Conditions, and Restrictions
  1. Certification of a student as a Strasser Hoofcare Professional upon successful completion of the Course entitles the graduate student to use the patented methods developed by Dr. Hiltrud Strasser on his/her clients horses and to call him/herself a Certified Strasser Hoofcare Professional.
  2. Certification as a Strasser Hoofcare Professional is valid for a period of one year. Each year Certification is extended for another year upon participation in an Advanced Education/Recertification Seminar. Failure to Recertify results in the loss of the right to proclaim the use of the methods developed by Dr. Hiltrud Strasser on clients` horses, and the title of Certified Strasser Hoofcare Professional.
In the event that no Advanced Education/Recertification Seminar takes place in S.A. within one year of the Certification date, Certification will be extended, and the next scheduled Seminar must be attended. Cost of the Advanced Education/Recertification Seminar will be announced each year.Certification as a Strasser Hoofcare Professional does not entitle the individual to hold Seminars or Courses on the knowledge and/or skills he or she has gained in the Course. Permission to hold Strasser Seminars is given on an individual basis to a Hoofcare Professional who has been Certified and has been practicing for at least two years, and also those who display an exceptionally high level of expertise in teaching and interpersonal skills. The individual seeking Seminar Instructor licensing must participate in at least five Basic Hoofcare Seminars held by a licensed Strasser Seminar instructor, during which the applicant will gradually teach more and more of the Seminar, in which the applicant’s ability to hold Seminars will be evaluated. Licensing of a Seminar instructor is subject to private consultation and licensing contract with Dr. Hiltrud Strasser
  3. A Certified Hoofcare Professional is encouraged to write articles on subjects relating to this profession, a copy of any article must be forwarded to Dr. Hiltrud Strasser and the U.K/S.A. office.
  4. If a Certified Hoofcare Professional wishes to hold “information evenings” (1-3 hour sessions giving basic information), he/she must make arrangements with Dr. Strasser to prove his/her competency and basic skills at disseminating information by teaching certain sections of a Basic Hoofcare Seminar under the supervision of Dr. Strasser, (or with Dr. Strassers` agreement, of a licensed Strasser Seminar Instructor). Successful completion of the demonstration will qualify the SHP to hold info evenings. Permission to give info evenings is valid only as long as the individual remains Certified, and may be revoked for any reasonable cause (see section IV, paragraph 13). The U.K. office must be informed of any information evenings.
  5. Where advice is requested from only photo’s, or descriptions of a horse that the SHP has never seen, or trimmed, he/she is strongly discouraged from offering advice due to the lack of complete information.
  6. Certification as a Strasser Hoofcare Professional does not entitle the individual to open a Hoof Clinic or any other facility for lameness rehabilitation using the Strasser methods.
  7. Certification of a Hoofcare Professional may be revoked at any time if the individual deviates in his/her hoofcare practices from the principles and methods developed by Dr. Hiltrud Strasser, or for any other reasonable cause (including, but not limited to, dishonest behaviour, substance abuse, etc.). Certification is revoked immediately if the individual shoes a client’s horse(s), or shoes/has shod his/her own horse(s).
  8. Should a SHP who practices and/or is resident in S.A relocate and/or practice in another country, the relevant national offices must be informed.

Section IV:- Course Terms, Conditions and Restrictions
  1. The current Course fee is 8000 euros + vat. Course fee is to be paid by Standing Order on the first day of every month, (or otherwise, by agreement)
  2. The student must buy the textbook “The Hoofcare Specialist’s Handbook” (Available from Sabine Kells).
  3. If payments are not made on time instruction (whether by correspondence or Practicum) will cease until tuition fees are again up to date.
  4. Each segment of the Course must be completed within the time specified by the Course instructor (usually one month, unless otherwise stated), and the homework/assignment for each segment must be returned to the instructor by the due date, in order of assignment. All homework assignments must be up to date before a student may take part in the mid-term exam. Passing grade for the mid-term exam is 80%. Failed exams may be retaken during the next Practicum, or at a time mutually agreed between student and Centaurholistic.
  5. A student must complete the Course in the time frame (unless otherwise agreed).
  6. A student must have completed all Course segments and homework/assignments, plus the mid-term exam, before taking the Certification exam.
  7. Should any Practicum days be missed & subsequently be retaken, there will be a charge of Three Hundred and Fifty Pounds per day.
  8. A student who fails the Certification exam (theory or practical) will not receive Certification. The student must study the areas in which he/she showed weakness, and may retake the Certification exam during the next final Practicum, or at a mutually agreed date and location (with an extra charge at the instructors discretion).
  9. In the case of a student being unable to continue the Course due to unforeseen circumstances, Course fees paid to the date of withdrawal are not refundable, and all Course materials (handouts, etc.) must be returned to the instructor.
  10. Any, and all Hoofcare Professional Certification materials, as well as any materials handed out during Basic and Further Seminars, are subject to copyright laws. Unauthorized use or reproduction is strictly prohibited.
  11. All insurance is the sole responsibility of the student.
  12. Working with and around horses and handling sharp tools is inherently dangerous. There are physical risks associated with taking this Course and working as a Hoofcare Professional. Attendance of the Certification Course and working as a Hoofcare Professional are completely at the student’s/graduate’s own risk.
  13. Centaurholistic has the right to terminate a student’s enrolment in the Course for any reasonable cause, (including but not limited to dishonest behaviour, substance abuse, incompetence, disobedience or insubordination). Course fees paid to the date of expulsion are non-refundable, and all Course materials (handouts, etc.) must be returned to the instructor.
  14. Unless the parties otherwise agree, the law of the U.K. applies to this contract.
  15. If a dispute arises under this contract it will be dealt with in the following order:- i) Negotiation. ii) Mediation. iii) Arbitration.
